The Register is proud to announce that Yates Center?s Easton Reynolds and Madelynn Collins were voted as the inaugural Allen County Area Athletes for the month of April.
Reynolds, a sophomore golfer, was nominated by the Register earlier last week along with Iola?s Derek Bycroft and Humboldt?s Tucker Hurst.
Collins, a junior softball player, was nominated along with Iola?s Mia Aronson and Elysia Kunkler.
The nominees were put up on the Register?s website to be voted on. Both Yates Center Wildcats won by comfortable margins.
Reynolds has led the Wildcat golf team to four first-place finishes so far this season. In those four wins, he?s placed first three times and second once.
Collins has been a big cog for the 13-3 Lady Cat softball team. She?s led the team with a .500 batting average along with 21 hits and 20 RBIs which both rank third on the team.
On the mound, Collins has a 1.00 ERA and was 7-0 throughout the month of April. She had 60 strikeouts during those seven wins.
