Allen County Community College’s soccer teams weren’t the best hosts Tuesday. The Red Devil squads did not let visiting Independence Community College’s teams claim wins.
The ACCC women shut out Independence 2-0 to go 3-3 overall. The Red Devil women are 2-1 in Region VI play and 1-1 in Jayhawk Conference action.
Caroline Demague scored an unassisted goal. SaHayla Griggs took a pass from Maurissa Shafer to score the other goal. Kayla Besmer had two saves in goal.
Matt Searcy had a hat-trick for the ACCC men, scoring all three goals. Henrique Pinto, Tyler Jordan and Tommy Hoppough each had an assist. Jordan Drake made six goal saves in the 3-2 win over Independence.
Allen County’s men improved to 2-0 in Region VI play and 1-0 in conference. The Red Devils are 2-3 overall.
