Cowley County Community College’s Tigers ripped the Allen County Community College’s Red Devils in three of four games over the weekend.
In a home four-game Jayhawk Eastern Division series, the Red Devils claimed a 5-4 win in a nine-inning game Saturday. The other three were blowouts going to visiting Cowley County.
Michael Schell hit a two-run home run in the first inning of Saturday’s second game. The Red Devils used an error and a single by Nathan Russell to set up Eric Seymour in the second  inning. Seymour drove in two runs on a single. In the sixth, Seymour’s sacrifice fly plated what would be the deciding run.
Nick Fountain was the winning pitcher, allowing four runs on eight hits, four walks and two hit batters in 81⁄3 innings of work. He struck out five. Brandon Spear came on in relief to retire the final two batters.
Bryce Williams had a single and a double. Brad Alberts and Russell each had two singles. Fountain, Bunch and Seymour each had a single.
In the first game Saturday, Cowley County won 15-4 in five innings. Dylan Bowman and Zak Mickens pitched for ACCC. Williams had two doubles and Schell had two singles. Seymour had a single and a double. Riley Price, Fountain, Garret Hess and Miles Sanderson each had a single.
On Sunday, the Tigers won 28-4 in five and 18-2 in seven innings. The Red Devils fell to 4-16 in conference play and 10-20 overall.
Fountain had three singles and a double in the two games. Price hit three singles. Williams doubled. Alberts, Price and Schell had a single apiece.
ACCC used three pitchers in the first game and four in the second contest. Cowley took advantage of 10 walks in the second game.
