Allen Community College freshman Leigh-Anne Bartlett got the Red Devils started fast on Tuesday against Cowley Community College and fellow-freshman Brynn Suddeth made sure that Cowley had no hope of a rally in Allen’s 5-1 win.
Bartlett scored the Red Devils’ first two goals in a flurry of action early in the opening half with Suddeth finding her teammate for a goal at the nine-minute mark and just over a minute later, Bartlett found the back of the net again and put her team up 2-0.
Suddeth added to that lead in the 15th minute with a goal off a Jensen DeeArmond assist and Allen took a 3-0 lead into the intermission.
Cowley opened the second half scoring with a goal, but Suddeth responded with her second goal to get the lead back to three.
Ira Taylor capped the scoring with a goal in the 87th minute to put the icing on the cake. Suddeth assisted on Taylor’s goal and that allowed her to either score or assist on all five of Allen’s goals.
