After dropping the first two games of the series on Thursday, the Allen County Red Devil baseball team finished out their series versus Fort Scott by going 1-1 at home to lose their first conference series of the season.
Allen County moves to 17-9 and 8-7 in conference play.
In the first game, the Red Devils were blasted 13-0 in six innings. The Greyhounds scored five runs in both the fourth and sixth to put the game away.
Starter Jacob Potter (1-2) earned the loss allowing eight runs (three earned) on six hits and a walk in 3.1 innings. The Red Devil defenders committed five errors in the field.
Shortstop Baxter Mays led the team with two hits. Allen County left eight runs on the base-paths.
They rebounded in game two, salvaging the series with a 6-5 win. Allen County led 4-3 after the first inning and got the go-ahead run in the bottom of the ninth to get the win.
Reliever Conner Darnell (2-1) earned the win allowing no runs on two hits and a walk in two innings.
Right fielder Brayden Whitchurch scored two runs on a hit and center fielder Dylan Price recorded three hits and a run.
Allen County will host Kansas City Kansas Community College at home on Thursday for the first half of the series. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
