Allen Community College’s softball team went on the road last weekend. The Red Devils had four Jayhawk Eastern Division games out west.

It was not a good swing out to Pratt and Dodge City. Allen dropped both conference doubleheaders.

Friday, Pratt Community College posted a five-inning, run-ruled 12-0 decision over the Red Devils. Pratt rallied for a 3-2 win in eight innings.

The Red Devils went to Dodge City Community College Saturday with much the same result. Dodge City defeated Allen 7-4 then rolled up a 12-1 win in five innings.

Losing four straight in conference play put the Red Devils at 3-5. They stand at 15-11 overall.

Allen hosts Independence Community College this Saturday. The Jayhawk East doubleheader is slated to begin at
1 p.m.

At Pratt, the Beavers scored seven runs in the second inning of the first game. They added four in the third and one more in the fourth.

Pratt’s Taylor Rathgeber shut down the ACC offense and recorded a no-hitter. Allen’s Keelyn Bonar was the losing pitcher, allowing 10 hits, walking two and striking out two.

The Red Devils got plenty of hits — 13 — in the second game but left 14 batters on base. They scored twice in the first inning and led 2-1 through four innings.

Pratt tied the game with a run in the fifth. It stayed 2-2 at the end of the seven-regulation innings. In the ninth inning, Pratt used a double and a one-out single to score the winning run.

Alex Hill took the pitching loss, allowing 10 hits and striking out two.

Macey Charleston connected for two doubles and a single, and Bonar had two singles and a double. Erin Schwant, and Ashley Ribelin each hit two singles. Hill, Audra Nelson and Kaitlin Norris had a single apiece.

Against Dodge City, Allen had two home runs but it wasn’t enough, losing 7-4. Bonar and Nelson pitched in the game and allowed 13 hits combined.

Ribelin had a two-run home run, a double and a single for ACC. Charleston hit a solo homer in the sixth and had a single. Jamee McEndree and Taylor Easum each had a base hit.

After Allen took a 1-0 lead in the first, Dodge City scored runs in each inning for the 12-1 win.
