The Allen Community College Red Devils earned their 15th win of the season with a 86-61 thomping of the JV team from Oklahoma Wesleyan.
ACC never trailed in the contest, and led 7-0 in the opening minutes. From there, the Red Devils would lead by as many as 19 before the Eagles climbed back, cutting the deficit to seven after a barrage of 3-pointers.
Oklahoma Wesleyan connected on six first-half 3-pointers, accounting for 18 of their 33 first-half points. On the other hand, ACC dominated the inside, converting 19 of 36 in the first half to take a commanding 50-33 lead at the half.
Joel Boyce followed up his 23-point Saturday performance with another strong showing on Monday. Boyce finished with a near double-double, scoring 19 and collecting 9 rebounds. Also finishing in double figures for the Red Devils were Brandon Gray with 14 points, and Malik Hardmon scoring 10. Shaikim Jenks and Jalen Sasser both finished with 14 points a piece.
The Red Devil offense didn’t flow as seamlessly as it did in the first half, but the Red Devils connected on 48% to come away with the 25-point victory.
ACC will be back on its home court this Saturday to restart the Jayhawk East cycle, and host Butler at 4 p.m. Last time around, the Grizzlies got the better of the Red Devils, winning 93-90 in overtime.
