NEOSHO, Mo — Allen County Community College’s women struggled offensively in this weekend’s Crowder Classic.
The Red Devils were held to just 14 points in a 72-45 loss Friday night to North Arkansas College. On Saturday afternoon, Allen County lost 85-55 to host Crowder College.
With the two losses, the Red Devils fall to 2-5 on the season. They, along with the ACCC men, play at home Tuesday against Pratt. Tipoff is 6 p.m. for the women and 8 p.m. for the men.
“We started Saturday’s game much better than against North Ark but Crowder had a rowdy home crowd that bothered our young players,” said Mark James, ACCC head coach. “We were not ready to play Friday and it showed.”
Allen County trailed North Arkansas 34-14 at halftime. The Red Devils shot 26 percent from the field.
Rackell Goldson led Allen County with 10 points and seven rebounds. Miracle Davis had six assists and six steals plus two points. Kayla Morton and Brittney Redmond each had seven points and Endesha Flanigan had six points.
Against Crowder, the Red Devils were down 45-33 at the break and shot 33 percent from the field.
Maggie Stithem and Goldson each poured in 11 points. Davis had nine points and five assists. Jamie Peel had seven points and seven rebounds.
