CHANUTE — Allen County Community College’s Red Devil women again came close to breaking their losing skid. But as ACCC women’s head coach Marcus Hicks said several games ago “close is not good enough.”
The Red Devils went into overtime in their Jayhawk Eastern Division conference opener Wednesday. They came out on the short end of a 56-52 score as Neosho County Community College’s Panthers posted the win.
“The ladies played a hard-fought game,” Hicks said in an e-mail to the Register Wednesday night.
No other information was available. The Register made repeated attempts to contact Coach Hicks this morning.
The Red Devils are 0-1 in conference play and 2-7 overall.
Allen County hosts Highland Community College Saturday in a 6 p.m. contest. It is the final home game before Christmas.
The Red Devil women go to Dodge City Monday then to Butler next Wednesday. They finish up the first semester at Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa on Dec. 11
