Red Devil women get road win

GARDEN CITY — The Allen Community College women’s basketball team was able to secure a season sweep of Garden City Community with a 80-72 road win.
The Red Devil frontcourt set the tone in the victory with sophomore DaMonica Franklin leading the team with 29 points and 10 rebounds.
Freshman forward Akia Andrews — who has been playing through injury — also secured a double-double with 15 points and 10 assists.
The Allen backcourt was able to pressure the Garden City guards the entire game and disrupt their shooters. Freshman Kamri Summons finished the game with 12 points and four steals.

MEN
The Red Devil men fell short in a high-scoring affair against Garden City, 95-83.
Allen sophomore DaRon Mims continued his recent stretch of high-scoring performances with a team-high 19 points.
Jah-Kobe Womack added 14 points on 6-of-8 shooting and Jacob Patterson and Ithello Cross also found their way into double figures with Patterson having 13 points and Cross having 12.

UP NEXT
The Red Devils will return home on Wednesday when they host Butler Community College. The women will tip off at 6 p.m. with the men’s game to follow.
