Allen County Community College’s Red Devil women and men lost their final Jayhawk Eastern Division doubleheader of the regular basketball season Saturday.
The women lost to the 22nd-ranked Cowley County Community College Tiger women 84-44. The Tigers led 54-14 at halftime.
Allen County’s women finished 1-17 in Jayhawk East play and 3-26 overall. That is last in the conference.
Allen County’s men dropped a 76-68 decision to Cowley County. The Tigers were up 34-29 at halftime.
The Red Devil men end the regular season at 4-14 in conference play and 7-22 overall, which puts them at eighth.
No individual statistics for ACCC were available for either game before today’s press time.
Allen County’s women and men will open Region VI tournament play on the road. They each drew Cloud County Community College in their respective brackets.
That means the Red Devil teams travel to Concordia to play a Region VI tournament doubleheader Tuesday. The women’s game is at 6 p.m. followed by the men’s contest at 8 o’clock.
Winners of the opening round games advance to the tournament at Koch Arena at Wichita State University, Friday through Monday.
