PARSONS — Allen County Community College’s basketball teams ran into road blocks against Labette Community College’s Cardinals Wednesday.
The Red Devil women were looking for a win to lock up a home playoff spot. The Cardinals “just wanted it more than we did,” said Mark James, ACCC women’s head coach, after a 71-65 loss.
Allen County’s women are 6-9 in Jayhawk Eastern Division play and 11-16 overall.
Jamie Peel and Rackell Goldson each scored 15 points for the Red Devils plus pulled 12 and 10 rebounds, respectively. Ebonie Jones added 13 points while Miracle Davis dished out 10 assists, adding to her conference-leading eight-plus assists a game.
Allen County’s men dropped a 91-71 decision on the road. The Red Devils are 6-9 and 12-15 overall. There were no individual statistics for the ACCC men available by press time.
Allen County’s teams host Cowley County’s teams Saturday.
