COLUMBUS, Neb. — Conference play started with a painful thud Saturday for Allen Community College’s soccer teams.
The Red Devil women saw host Central Community College score in the game’s 87th minute for the only goal of the contest in a 1-0 defeat.
Central’s Clara Dos Reis took a feed from Sydney Weiler and found the back of the net for the game-winner.
The loss drops Allen to 6-3 overall.
In men’s action, Central scored two goals in a 4-minute stretch late in the first half, then blasted in a third in the final minute of the match in a 3-0 win.
Central’s Ivan Lopez, Bijan Aslan and Rafael Medrano each had goals for the victorious Raiders.
The Red Devil men stand at 6-4 on the season.
Allen is back in action Wednesday at Pratt before returning home Saturday against Hesston.
