Red Devil softball sweeps Fort Scott at home

Allen Community College thumped Fort Scott Community College in a doubleheader on Tuesday in Fort Scott.

The Red Devil softball squad won game one, 15-7. They managed 20 hits over seven innings against Fort Scott pitchers Aubrey Smith and Kiara Boyd. Smith is a Yates Center grad.

Alana Renshaw and Ashley Womack each had four hits  for the Red Devils. 

Renshaw led the way with four runs while Womack had six RBIs with two home runs. 

Ali Morris and Sarah Eckart also homered for Allen. 

In game two, Allen beat Fort Scott 10-2.

Womack had another big game by going 3-for-4 with three RBIs, a double and a triple.

Morris, Renshaw and Morgan Wayman all doubled in the game as well. 

The two wins improve Allen’s record to 24-15. Allen was to complete its delayed game with Neosho County Community College at 1 p.m. today. The game was delayed due to weather with the game tied at 2-2 with two outs in the top of the eighth inning.

THE RED Devil baseball team split in a non-conference  doubleheader against Drury (Mo.) University’s junior varsity on Tuesday. 

Allen lost game one, 13-6, despite outfielder Torey Jordan Jr.’s 3-for-4 performance. He had three RBIs.

In game two, the Red Devils bounced back with an 8-5 victory.

 

Mason Gifford led the way with three hits in game two with a pair of RBIs.
