The Allen Community College soccer teams’ seasons are in full swing after wrapping up season-opening three-game road trips.
On Friday, the Lady Red Devils (2-1) got their second win of the season, beating St. Louis  Community College-Meramec 2-1 in an overtime brawl.
Freshman Hailey Gonzalez  scored the first goal for ACC off an assist from sophomore Leigh-Anne Bartlett that tied up the game to force overtime.
Bartlett would make herself known again in overtime as she hit the go-ahead goal  with less than five minutes remaining in the period. Freshman Hailey Jones recorded the assist.
Keeper Morgan Cossairt held down the fort defensively in-goal and made a huge save on a penalty kick that kept the Lady Devils in the game.
Two days later, the Allen County women ran into No. 14 Lewis & Clark Community College who delivered a 9-0 beating. Cossairt played the full game at keeper again and recorded 15 saves including one on a penalty kick.
For the men, they ran into 12th ranked St. Louis Community College-Meramec, falling 4-0 for the Red Devils (0-3) second loss of the season.
Then on Sunday, Allen County hung tough with Lewis and Clark but fell 2-1 for their third loss of the season.
Sophomore Daniel Guardado scored his second goal of the season with a assist from Wilmer Canales.
Guardado’s two goals are the only goals of the season for the Allen County men.
Both teams will return to Iola on Wednesday for their first home matches of the season as they take on the Ottawa University junior varsity squad.
The women will open up play at 2 p.m. while the men will follow right after at 4 p.m.
