The Allen men got a commanding 96-65 win over Oklahoma Wesleyan’s junior varsity squad on Monday in a game that had been postponed twice.

The win evens the Red Devils’ overall record at 14-14.

Allen led by 11 at the half.  But riding a shooting percentage that was 20 percent higher than Wesleyan’s, the Red Devils outscored the Eagles 53-33 in the second half to land the dominant win.

Freshman Malik Hardmon led the way with a 26-point, 12-rebound double-double and sophomore Darius Love followed with 16 points. Sophomore Jamaal Clifton had 10. Freshman forward CJ Parks had nine points and sophomore guard Wesley Anderson Jr. had eight.

This win comes on the heels of three straight conference losses to Coffeyville, Cloud County and Cowley County.

Monday’s game was just part one of a three-game week for the Red Devils. On Wednesday, Allen will travel to Independence before returning home for their final game of the regular season versus rival Neosho County.

The final two games are crucial for the Red Devils for seeding for the Region VI Tournament. Currently, the Red Devils sit last in the East and tied for 11th overall with Pratt and NW-Kansas Tech.
