ARKANSAS CITY Allen Community Colleges mens and womens basketball losing ways did not let up at Cowley County on Saturday.
Both teams dropped their fourth-straight games after the men lost 77-60 and the women lost 83-62.
The men fall to 12-8 and 4-7 overall in league play while the women move to 3-18 and 1-10.
The Red Devil men trailed by eight at the half and things didnt get much better. Cowley continued to pull away in the second half to win by 17.
Sophomore Perry Carroll led all scorers with 23 followed by 19 for freshman Tyus Jeffries. No other Red Devil player scored more than five points.
Meanwhile, the Lady Devils history of bad starts continued. The Allen women trailed by 15 after the first quarter but chipped that down to nine by halftime.
Cowley recovered in the second half and went on to outscore the Lady Devils in the final two quarters by 12.
Freshman Ariel Walker had 13 and sophomores Alecia Verge and Jakira Wilson each had 11. Freshman Gabby Guzman had nine points and freshman Tunmi Amusa had 15 rebounds.
Both teams will try to buck this losing trend on Wednesday when they host Independence.
