Rain today has washed out all regional baseball and softball tournaments involving area high school teams. Rain had already pushed some tournaments back a bit on Monday.
Here are the updates as of press time:
Class 4A Softball
Iola High’s Fillies will play Friday in the semifinals of the Class 4A regional hosted by Ottawa High School.
Games slated for today have been moved to Friday and to Ottawa’s Forest Park instead of the Orlis Cox Softball Complex.
Paola plays Prairie View at 3 p.m. followed by Iola against Ottawa at 4:45 p.m.
The winners play in the championship game at 6:30 p.m.
Class 4A Baseball
Iola High’s Mustangs are scheduled to play Thursday in the Class 4A regional tournament hosted by Osawatomie High School.
Osawatomie has moved the semifinals and the championship game to Thursday at the same times. If not on Thursday, the games are shifted to Friday on the same schedule.
Osawatomie plays Ottawa at 2 p.m., Iola takes on Spring Hill at 4:30 and the championship game is at 7 p.m.
Class 2-1A Baseball
Humboldt has moved its Class 2-1A regional semifinals and championship game to Friday at Neosho County Community College in Chanute.
Uniontown plays Marmaton Valley at noon followed by Jayhawk-Linn playing Yates Center at 2 p.m. The title game is at 5.
Class 2-1A Softball
Uniontown’s regional has been moved to Friday at the same times schedule for today.
Yates Center’s regional could go Friday early afternoon or Saturday starting in the morning. No decision had been made.
