The Hummer roared back into action on Friday night after a nearly three-week absence with all five regular classes and the addition of Lucas Oil POWRi West Series Midgets on the high banks of the mile speedway.
Steven Shebester of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma rocketed from his 12th spot starting position  and picked up the win with a late race pass after a restart to take the @POWRi_WEST Series win. Shebester sealed the deal in his Mel Mark Pipe Spike chassis holding off a field of 20 midgets in their first visit to the Hummer.
In NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Modifieds, Mitch Keeter solidified his points lead by leading every lap in route to his 11th win of the season. Keeter has 18 top fives and 19 top tens out of 19 starts on the season, sitting 12th in National Whelen All-American Division I points. Chase Domer and Paden Phillips rounded out the top three. Heat race wins went to Keeter and Domer.
Ray’s Metal Depot B-Mod action saw Bonner Springs, Kansas driver Lucas Isaacs pick up his first win of the season at Humboldt, holding off Shane Collins and Tim VanGotten in the A Feature event. Early race leader Matthew Kay suffered damage in an early race tangle with Division II National Points leader Cody Jolly and was forced to retire. Jolly would rally to salvage a ninth place finish.  Jolly maintained his track points lead over Riley Whitworth and Tyler Kidwell. Heat race wins went to Kay, Isaacs, Mike Letterman and Jolly.
The Pitt Steel Street Stock division saw a $1000 to win purse, presented by Dudley’s Done Right BBQ, draw drivers from three states to chase the payday. In the end it was Darrin Crisler from Clever, Missouri take advantage of his pole position to lead every lap in route to the win. It was only Crisler’s second trip to Humboldt, winning on his maiden event that time also. Crisler had company as OKlahoma driver Brian Parker applied late race pressure but finished second. Jay Lamons Jr., Andy Morris and Jason Thurman completed the top five. Heat race wins went to Thurman, Crisler and Lamons.
In Whitworth Construction Factory Stocks, Jon Westhoff returned to McCarthy Auto Group Victory Lane; picking up his 8th win of season and tightening the points battle between himself and Bryce Weldon. Westhoff outdistanced Scott Collins and Ethan Vance for the win. Heat races wins went to Westhoff, Vance and Collins.
Finally, in Sports Compact action, John Willard of St.Joseph, Missouri sealed the points title picking up his 12th win of the season. Willard outpaced teammate Barry Luthi and Humboldt’s Eric Ikehorn. Heat race wins went to Willard and Luthi.
Racing returns to Humboldt Speedway on September 2nd in a different form. School Busses and Sport Compacts, who will race for $200,  will take to the racetrack in the Annual event that draws busses sponsored by area schools. Area Masonic Temples sponsor the event which sees all proceeds distributed back to the area schools. Tickets are $10. Gates open at 4pm with Racing starting at approximately 7:30 pm.
The last scheduled race of the season will take place on September 9th with a Jam the Stands NIght at the Speedway.
