GARNETT — Iola Middle School’s junior varsity golfers competed at Wednesday’s Anderson County Jr. High golf tournament.
Taylor Sell shot a 59 to claim the third-place medal in the girls’ division. Abby Funk had a 48 for first place and Tristyn Stanilaus had a 53 for second and both are from Chanute.
Bryan Gentry led the Pony boys with a 56. Josh Elder carded a 57 followed by Quentin Sams with a 59. Colby Works shot a 60 followed by Andrew Walden with a 61, Colten Storrer with a 62 and Mason Key with a 64.
“I was very proud of our golfers. For most of them, it was their first golf tournament,” said Stacey Crusinbery, IMS golf coach.
