Pony golf plays at Pitt and Coffeyville

Iola Middle School golf competed in two meets last week. 

The team traveled to Pittsburg on Monday and took fifth before traveling to Coffeyville on Wednesday to place fourth. 

At Pittsburg, Chris Holloway led the team with a fourth-place finish with a 43. 

Xander Sellman shot a 48, Jack White a 51, Travis Wanker a 53, Bandon McKarnin a 55 and Carson Keller a 61. 

Holloway led the way at Coffeyville as well, shooting a 44 which was again good for fourth followed by Sellman who took 12th with a 51, McKarnin who finished 18th with a 53, Wanker who finished 20th with a 54, White who finished 22nd with a 55 and Keller who took 24th with a 56. 

There were 75 golfers and 10 schools at the Coffeyville meet. 

The Ponies will compete at three meets this week starting with Jayhawk-Linn on Tuesday. They’ll travel to Anderson County on Wednesday and wrap up the week at Caney Valley on Thursday.
