Junior High Track and Field: Iola Ponies
The Iola Middle School Pony track and field hosted a triangular with Garnett and Prairie View on Thursday.
The Iola seventh-grade boys finished first while the eighth-grade boys and seventh and eighth-grade girls finished second behind Prairie View.
Carter Hutton took first in both the 100-meter dash (13.26) and the 400-meter dash (1:03.76) for the seventh-grade boys and Justin Mc-Cullough finished first in the 200-meter dash (28.39).
Drake Mathew finished first in the 800-meter run (2:50.56) and Kaster Trabuc finished first in the 3200-meter run (12:59.35).
The 4×200-meter relay finished first with a time of 2:12.33 and Jarrett Herrmann finished first in the 100-meter hurdles (18.85).
For the eighth-graders, Brett Willis finished first in the 100-meter dash (12.34) and Kolten Lacrone finished first in the 200-meter dash. Willis also took first in the long jump with a distance of 16 feet, 11.5 inches.
Pierce Beasley finished first in the 400-meter dash (1:10.07) and Sean Hurst won the 1600-meter run (5:587.20).
Evan Casner took first in the 100-meter hurdles (18.97).
On the girls side, Celina Caron took first in the 200-meter dash (31.01) and Jayden Kaufman finished first in the 1600-meter run (7:19.28) for the seventh-graders.
Crystal Lindsey finished first in the shot put with a distance of 281.75 and Celina Caron and Aysha Houk finished one and two in the high jump with heights of 42 and 40.
The eighth-grade girls were led by Hannah Hall, Ursula Billings and Josie Plumlee.
Hall finished first in the 100-meter dash (13.60) and the 100-meter hurdles (18.77) while Billings finished first in the 800-meter run (3:06.56) and the 3200-meter run (6:38.41) and Plumlee took first in the high jump (46) and the 1600-meter run (6:38.42).
Triniti Franklin finished first in the 400-meter dash (1:14.88).
The Ponies will host their big Invitational on Tuesday.
