Ponies fall at Parsons

PARSONS — Parsons Middle School powered past visiting Iola Middle School’s Ponies in three games.
Parsons was up 15-3 by halftime of the eighth-grade A-team game. Iola outscored Parsons 13-12 in the second half but lost 37-16.
Jo Lohman led the Ponies with seven points and three rebounds. Emmalee Seabolt had four points and four rebounds.
Kyra Moore scored three points and pulled down four rebounds. Addie Haar had two points.
Despite not scoring in the first quarter, the seventh-grade Ponies only trailed 6-5 in the A-team contest. Parsons went on to win 22-12.
Hannah Ingle scored five points and controlled seven rebounds for the Ponies. Ashlie Shields had three points.
Taylor Sell had two points and five rebounds. Elise Wolf had two points and two rebounds.
In a combined seventh-and-eighth-grade B-team game, Parsons won 14-9.
Sarah Gonzales led Iola with three points. Scoring two points each were Taylor Heslop, Katie Shields and Emily McKarnin.
The Iola teams travel to Burlington for a tournament Saturday.
