Allen Community College’s softball team had troubles early and late Tuesday.
Visiting Neosho County scored six in the top of the first of the opener to roll to a 12-2 win.
The visiting Panthers then erupted for seven in the top of the seventh of the nightcap to break open a 12-3 victory.
The losses keep Allen winless in Jayhawk Conference Eastern Division play.
The Red Devils had their chances.
Allen racked up 11 hits in the opener, but stranded 10 runners.
The Red Devils scored both of their runs in the first to cut Neosho’s lead to 6-2.
Annie Gentry led off with a single. She scored on a Panther fielding error. Shelby Maycumber followed her home on the next play by scoring on a wild pitch.
Mackenzi Beck took the loss, giving up 13 hits in five innings. She walked one and struck out one. Emily England gave up two hits in her inning of relief.
Five of the Panthers’ 12 runs were unearned, due to five Red Devil errors.
Gentry rapped out three singles, while Luna singled and doubled. Stormie Bush singled twice. Bailey Burnett, Kayla Bourgeois, Jordan Barber and Erika King each singled.

THE RED Devils trailed 3-0 before Callie Beene’s sacrifice scored Gentry in the third to cut the deficit to 3-1.
The lead swelled to 5-1 before the Red Devils put forth their biggest threat of the game.
Bush doubled and Barber singled to lead off the sixth. Barber followed with an RBI single.
Gentry reached on a two-out error before King singled to load the bases.
But the threat ended with a pop-up by Beene.
The Panthers then plated seven in the top of the next inning to put the game out of reach.
England gave up 16 hits, but just four earned runs. Allen committed four errors.
Burnett, Bush and Luna each had two hits, including one double apiece. King, Barber, Shayla Stephens and Maycumber added singled.
Allen travels to Pratt Friday and Dodge City Saturday.
