THAYER — Marmaton Valley Junior High’s volleyball girls came out on top in A-team and B-team play Thursday.
The Wildcat A-team beat St. Pats 25-16, 25-21. Cheyenne English served for 10 points and MaKenzie Harrison had eight service points.
Kaysha Elmenhorst, Emily Boyd and Shauna Knight each had four points from the service line.
“It was a very intense match. St. Pats is well coached and a very disciplined team,” said Jamie Stodgell, MVJH head coach. “Our girls stepped on the court with a winning attitude and refused to let St. Pats have the match.”
Marmaton Valley beat Thayer 15-3, 15-4 in B-team play. Kyla Drake served up 16 points. Mackenzie Tynon had four points. Misty Storrer and Molly Hamlin each served two points.
“The B-team’s serving was the ticket to our win,” said Brenda Mills, MVJH assistant coach.
