MORAN — Marmaton Valley Junior High enjoyed the home environs Thursday, with the boys and girls teams sweeping all three games they played.
In boys action, the Wildcat A team prevailed over visiting Pleasanton, 31-23, after the B team corralled a mind-boggling 31-0 in the shutout win.
The Wildcat girls, playing a single game, won, 18-11.
IN THE BOYS A team affair, Thomas Allee was a key protagonist late, scoring 10 of his team-high 14 points in the second half. That allowed the Wildcats to extend their 13-8 halftime lead to 21-15 after three.
Cooper Scharff added five points, while Tucker Sutton and Dagan Barney scored four points apiece. Kris McVey and Ethan Lawson added two points each.
Meanwhile, eight Wildcats scored in the B team rout as Marmaton Valley led 9-0 at halftime and 21-0 after three quarters before closing the game with a 10-0 run in the final period.
Kris McVey and Kaden McVey shared scoring honors with eight apiece. Kameren McClenning and Colin Ard both scored four. Truett Blevins, Brady Burton, Hunter Doolittle and Jay Henry all had two points. Bryant Uhlrich added a free throw.
“We had great effort and energy tonight,” MV head coach Byron Marshall said. “We executed our game plan well and worked hard.”
THE WILDCAT girls overcame a slow start before turning on the jets after halftime to seal the win.
Neither team scored in the first quarter before Pleasanton forged ahead, 5-3, at the break.
But Mahala Burris stepped to the forefront as Marmaton Valley took control in the third period. She scored six of the Wildcats’ 10 points as they took a 13-9 lead. A 5-2 run down the stretch sealed the win.
Burris wound up with eight points to lead the way. Emma Louk and Addisyn Drake added three points each. Taylen Blevins and Emma Michael each scored two.
