UNIONTOWN — Marmaton Valley Junior High’s Wildcats claimed second at the Uniontown A-Team Tournament Saturday.
The Wildcats lost to Oswego 20-15, 9-20, 15-4 in the championship match. Kaysha Elmenhorst served up eight points followed by MaKenzie Harrison with six points, Tessa Olson with five points, Emily Boyd with three, Cheyenne English with two and Shauna Knight with one point.
The Wildcats beat Uniontown 20-6, 20-4 to open the tournament. Boyd served for 19 points. English served up seven. Knight, Elmenhorst and Harrison each had two points served.
Marmaton Valley defeated Pleasanton 20-10, 20-6 to reach the championship match. Harrison served 10 points and English served for nine. Serving three points each were Boyd, Olson and Knight.
“It was a good day of volleyball for us,” said Jamie Stodgell, MVJH coach. “We played hard the whole day and the girls did a great job.”
