Marmaton Valley Junior High's girls basketball teams struggle against Crest and Southeast on Monday night.

The Wildcats went 0-4 on the night but showed some heart even in the losses.

On Monday, the Marmaton Valley Junior High’s girls were in Colony for games against Crest and Southeast.

The Wildcats went 0-4 on the night.

Crest won, 22-14, in the A team contest and 25-9 in the B team affair.

Crest ended the A team contest with a 12-4 run to break a 10-10 third-quarter deadlock.

Leading Crest was Aylee Beckmon with 10 points, followed by Kinley Edgerton with four. Josie Walter, Kaelin Nilges, Hanna Schmidt and Peyton Schmidt each scored two.

Jacee Mattox scored 10 of Marmaton Valley’s 14 points. Braelyn Sutton scored the other.

In B team play, Crest jumped to an 8-0 lead after one quarter and never looked back.

Summer Valentine paced a balanced scoring attack for the hosts with six points. Walter, Kinley Romines and Lizzie Ellington each scored four. Jaycee Schmidt added a point, and two points came from a bucket from a Marmaton Valley player.

Addisyn Drake scored three points for the Wildcats. Jetta Matthews, Tay Blevins and Jae Beachner each had two points.

SOUTHEAST defeated Marmaton Valley, 27-10, in the A team game and 28-8 in B team play.

Sutton scored nine for the Wildcat A team. Mattox added a free throw.

Drake led the B team Wildcats with five points. Mahala Burris added two and Tay Blevins one.

RESULTS FROM the Thursday night games against Pleasanton were not immediately available.
