MORAN —  A gloomy second quarter did in Marmaton Valley Junior High’s football team Thursday.

Visiting Northeast-Arma outscored the Wildcats 22-0 in the period to break open an 8-8 deadlock.

The 60-32 defeat drops Marmaton Valley to 3-3 on the season.

“We had some great individual efforts, but our team effort was very bad,” head coach Dan Uhlrich said. “This is a team game.  Our offensive line’s effort was not what it needed to be.”

Uhrich credited Cooper Scharff for his work, despite taking a big hit earlier in the game.

“He showed toughness and continued to work,” Uhlrich said. “We have work to do.”

Marmaton Valley travels to Crest Thursday to wrap up the 2021 season.
