MVJH ends year strong

The Marmaton Valley junior high volleyball team wrapped up its season at a tournament at Southeast-Cherokee on Saturday. They went 3-1.

The team opened up with a three-set 25-21, 24-26 and 17-15 win over Oswego.

Madison Lawson led the way with 14 points, Raveyn Kegler had 11 points, Emma Schmidt and Payton Scharff had five and Roslyn Houk and Janae Granere had two.

They then lost their only game of the day to Northeast-Arma in three-sets (20-25, 25-22 and 11-15).

Lawson had 11 points, Schmidt had eight points, Kegler had five points, Houk had three points, Granere and Scharff had two points and Tayven Sutton had one point.

The Wildcats then took down Jayhawk-Linn in three-sets (21-25, 25-19 and 15-11).

Kegler had 21 points in the win followed by seven for Houk, four for Lawson, two for Granere and Schmidt and Scharff each had a point.

They wrapped up their day by sweeping Uniontown 25-18 and 25-23.

Kegler had nine points, Lawson had five points, Granere had three points, Schmidt and Sutton each had two points and Scharff had a point.
