MVHS varsity and JV take court

PLEASANTON — The Marmaton Valley High School volleyball program continued its season Tuesday night when it traveled to Pleasanton as part of a four-team tournament.
The Wildcats varsity team first played Jayhawk-Linn and lost in two sets (25-17, 25-21).
Marmaton Valley didn’t have much luck against Pleasanton or Oswego either, losing both those games as well.
Against Pleasanton, the Wildcats captured the first set before dropping the next two (25-19, 25-27, 24-26).
Oswego defeated Marmaton Valley in just two sets (25-13, 25-22).
Mackenzie Tynon finished the tournament with a total of 25 kills in three games.
The Marmaton Valley JV volleyball team also competed against Pleasanton and Oswego, winning both matchups in two sets.
Against Pleasanton, the Wildcats won 15-7, 15-1. And against Oswego, the Wildcats won 15-13, 15-7.
Emily Smart led the team with 15 total points while Patricia Outlan had three kills in addition to her one block.
