Marmaton Valley softball split at Oswego on Monday.
The Wildcats narrowly lost game one 8-7 before a 24-8 blowout in game two.
Marmaton Valley moves to 6-4 after the split.
The Wildcats scored a run to start the game in the top of the first and added five more in the top of the third to go up 6-0.
Oswego scored two runs in the bottom of the third which set them up to tie the game up at seven after Marmaton Valley scored a run in the top of the fifth and the Indians put in five runs in the bottom of the inning.
After a scoreless sixth, Oswego managed a walk-off single on a line drive to left field with the bases loaded with one out.
Karlie Stephens earned the loss after allowing eight runs (seven earned) on eight hits and five walks with seven strikeouts.
Paige Becker and Julianna Sprague each had two hits. Kayle Ard had three steals in the game.
In game two, Marmaton Valley jumped out to a 2-0 lead that turned to a 5-2 lead after the third inning.
The Wildcats added two more in the fourth, one in the fifth and four in the top of the sixth to go up 12-2.
Oswego scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth before the Wildcats unleashed 12 runs in the seventh inning. The Indians scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh but still lost by 16.
Sprague had four hits and four RBIs for Marmaton Valley in the win followed by three hits for Stephens and Patricia Outlan. Outlan also had six RBIs.
Kayla Ard, Shaylee Woods and Zoi Yoho each had two hits. Ard was walked three times and had four stolen bases in the game.
Ard got the start and earned the win, allowing eight runs (six earned) on 12 hits and six walks. She struck out six.
Marmaton Valley will travel to Chetopa on Thursday.
