MORAN — Marmaton Valley Junior High’s Mackenzie Tynon proved to be too much for Uniontown Junior High to handle Monday.
Tynon scored 14 of her game-high 18 points in the first half as the Wildcat girls A team rolled to a 37-20 win.
Uniontown was victorious in the girls B game, 20-7.
In boys action, Uniontown swept both games, winning 37-17 in A team play and 30-11 in the B team contest.
“The A team came out strong and continued throughout all four quarters,” Marmaton Valley head coach Brenda Mills said. “Good, strong defense prevented the Eagles offense from getting going.”
Marmaton Valley led 20-8 at halftime and 29-10 after three quarters.
Ashlynn Pinkerton added nine points for Marmaton Valley, followed by Lindsey McNeil with six and Tanna Lutz and Misty Storrer with two points apiece.
H. Shinn and K. Beerbower scored six points apiece to lead Uniontown. D. Herring and S. VanZant scored four points each.
In the B team contest, Marmaton Valley led 4-2 at the break before Uniontown took control with a 16-3 run that spanned the second half. Shinn scored eight points, H. Ruggles six, Herring four and S. Harper two for Uniontown.
Brooklynn Newman scored three points, while Nalea Alexander and Kyla Drake both scored two for Marmaton Valley.
Mills said Marmaton Valley worked hard, but the team’s inexperience showed.

IN BOYS action, Uniontown led the A team contest 9-2 after one quarter, 16-6  at halftime and 25-10 after three.
Gavin Miller and Tyler Johns scored nine points each for the Eagles, followed by John Reed with six, Devonte Robinson with five and Austin Collins, Cole Rockhold, Ronnie Shadden and Zach Schwalm with two points each.
Chad Starliper’s five points led Marmaton Valley. Brady Newman and Keagan Boyd scored four each. Michael Beggs and Gage Adams each scored two.
“Uniontown’s height combined with the fouls proved too much to overcome,” Marmaton Valley head coach Arlyn Briggs said.
Uniontown’s defense controlled the B team affair. The Eagles took control with a 12-3 run that spanned the second quarter.
Jesse Kuns scored 10 points, followed by Colton Sutterby with six, Cale Coyn and Kalyn Simpson with four each and Tavis Doherty, David Bradbury and Gavin O’Brien with two apiece.
Marmaton Valley’s B team was led by Beggs with five points, Cody Wilson with three points, Tony Jefferis with two and Marc Waggoner with one.
