Mustang junior forward Ethan Holloway was a headache for opposing coaches all season with his length and athleticism on both ends of the floor. Those very same coaches rewarded Holloway for that impact by making him the only non-senior in the Pioneer League to be named to the All-League First Team.

“It feels great being selected and it’s all the hard work paying off,” Holloway said. “Being selected First Team was something I knew I needed to do before the season started and I was mad that I didn’t do enough last year to get it. So this year I knew I needed to put in more work to get there and next year I just need to improve more and get better to make sure I can repeat it, and try to get myself in the All State conversation. That’s something I strive for.”

Holloway was very efficient this season by shooting 52 percent from the field and 69 percent on free throws on his way to averaging a double-double with 11.3 points and 10.3 rebounds.

“I’m extremely grateful to my coaches and my teammates because without my coaches pushing me in practice and my teammates getting me the ball in situations I can be successful, then I would never be in this conversation,” Holloway said.

Iola senior guard Isaiah Fawson was a surprising omission from both the first and second teams. Senior point guard Ben Cooper and junior forward Evan Sigg were also left off the All-Pioneer League list after having strong seasons.
