Iola stayed perfect on Tuesday despite some early slipups in their road sweep of Anderson County.
The Mustangs won 10-3 and 15-4 and moved to 6-0 overall this season.
Senior Derek Bycroft earned his third win of the season after game one despite a rocky performance early.
Bycroft went five innings, allowing two runs on seven hits and four walks with five strikeouts.
Coming into Tuesdays games, Bycroft had thrown 14 scoreless innings but Anderson County, which competed along with Iola in the 4A-II State Tournament in Salina last May, made things difficult for the senior and forced him to work through it.
Sophomore Bradyn Cole took over in the final two innings and allowed a run on three hits with five strikeouts. Cole earned the save.
Both teams scored a run in the first inning. Iola countered with two in the second and four in the third to jump out to a five-point, 7-2 lead after Anderson County managed to walk in a run on Bycroft in the second.
Two innings later, Iola scored two more runs to push their lead to seven in the fifth. A run in the sixth brought the Mustangs run total to 10 and their lead to eight.
Anderson County singled in a final run in the bottom of the sixth with two outs but that was it.
Junior Calvin Delich, in his first game back since the opener due to sickness, had three hits and two walks.
Senior Kane Rogers and sophomore Nathan Louk each had two hits.
Iolas offense was even more steady and relentless in game two. The Mustangs managed to score two or more runs in all but two innings.
Louk got his first official start of the season after a scoreless four-inning start versus Chanute got rained out two weeks ago.
Louk allowed four runs (two earned) on eight hits and two walks with two strikeouts.
The Mustangs committed three uncharacteristic fielding errors in the game.
Delich came in for relief and threw the final two innings, allowing one hit with two strikeouts for a save.
