Mustangs kick off season versus Indy

Before the start of spring break, the Iola boys' tennis team got their season underway against Independence.

Iola boys tennis was in action against Independence on Thursday afternoon. It was a learning experience for the Mustangs. Senior Elijah Fawson was the only player to capture a victory. 

Fawson finished 1-1 on the day in no. 1 singles action. Fawson’s solo win came by an 8-2 margin over Jameson Jarrigan. Fawson lost his other match by a score. 

Also competing in singles action was Adryan Nading and Henry Wicoff. Nading fell to Ian O’Rourke 8-6, while Wicoff lost 8-0 to Jacob Peschka. 

Isaac Badders and Landon Carson also competed in singles play. Badders was defeated by Tristan Cushing 8-3, and Carson fell short against Hayden Campbell, also losing 8-3.

In doubles action, Badders and Carson came up empty in both their matches against the pair of Peshka and Cambell, losing matches by 8-4 and 8-2. Wicoff and Nading also pair up, and were only able to capture one set win in both matches, losing by scores of 8-0 and 8-1.
