Iola High’s Mustang junior varsity had Parsons High’s Vikings behind the eight-ball Tuesday.
The Mustangs won 8-1 and 8-0 at home at Riverside Park.
Aaron Barclay and Shae Beasley combined to win the first game. Barclay pitched three innings, allowing one run on one hit, one walk and two hit batters plus struck out five. Beasley worked two innings, giving up two hits, hitting one batter and striking out three.
Trent Latta doubled and singled while Barclay and Tyler Clubine had two singles each. Drew Faulhaber tripled.
Hitting a single each were Eric Heffern, Derrick Weir, Beasley, Cole Morrison and Austin Snyder.
Tyler Tomlinson threw three no-hit, scoreless innings in the second game. He struck out one. Faulhaber pitched two innings, allowing one hit and striking out two.
Heffern, Latta and Weir each had a single and a double. Thealvin Minor and Tomlinson each doubled. Faulhaber and Kohl Endicott had a single apiece.
