BURLINGTON — Yates Center High’s Jake Morrison claimed the seventh-place medal at Burlington High’s golf tournament Tuesday.
Morrison shot an 80 (40-40). The first-place medalist was Joey Morrisey of Pleasanton, who won a tiebreaker as four others also shot a 78.
“Jake played much better than at Erie Monday,” said Kevin Barnes, YCHS golf coach. “He hit some really nice shots but also made some mental mistakes or he would have been in the thick of the people tied at 78, or maybe better.”
Barnes said Paul Stockebrand also played better than he did Monday. Stockebrand shot a 90 (45-45) and Dylan Bauman had a 98 (53-46) as he told Barnes, his short game was giving him problems.
