Allen Community Colleges mens and womens soccer teams were unable to come up with goals against Johnson Community College on Saturday.
The mens team fell 0-2, and the Lady Devils 1-6 in the second conference game of the season.
MENS SIDE
Despite controlling possession for most of the first half, the Red Devils could not find the back of the net. With 26 seconds left in the first half, Johnson was awarded a free kick in range for an opportunity on goal, and the Cavaliers buried the chance to put them in front.
The second half was more of the same with the Red Devils dominating possession, but ACC was unable to find an equalizer. Eventually, Johnson doubled its lead to make the two-goal lead too tall of a task for ACC. Goalkeeper Zakk Wilce provided four great saves in net for ACC to keep the game in reach, but ACC was unable to convert any of their 19 shots into goals.
The Red Devils will look to regroup before playing at Coffeyville on Wednesday.
WOMENS SIDE
Heading into halftime, the Lady Devils trailed by two goals and matters only got worse from there. Johnson picked up four more goals in the second half. The Lady Devils were able to score a consolation goal with three minutes remaining from Ava Cook to give ACC its first goal of the season.
The Lady Devils will hope they learn from their mistakes as they also travel to Coffeyville on Wednesday.
