HUMBOLDT Weekly racing returned to the 3/8 mile Humboldt Speedway on Friday with six action packed classes. The main event of the evening was the $1,000 to win McCarthy Auto Group/USRA A-Modifieds. Matt Johnson, Archie, Mo., beat pole sitter Jon Sheets to turn one and raced to a 20-lap, A-Feature win. Sheets outdueled fellow Nevada, Missouri racer Chase Domer for second.
In Rays Metal Depot B-Mod action, Andy Bryant continued his winning ways taking the feature win over Brian McGowen and Kenton Allen. McGowan led the first seven circuits before Bryant took the lead for good. Heat race wins went to McGowen, Bryant and Cody Jolly.
NASCAR Midwest Mods saw Fort Scotts Trevor Vann go back-to-back, gaining his second win on the season. Vann outdistanced Rob Muilenburg and Mitch Coulter in the victory. Heat race wins went to Vann and Muilenburg.
Home Savings Bank Factory Stocks saw a new winner as Chanutes Derrek Wilson picked up the win as cautions filled the A-feature. Early race action saw Jacob Ellison and Jon Westhoff battle for the top position. Wilson, Krew Walburn and Logan Boone rounded out the top three.
Tumbleweed Music Festival Street Stocksaction had Humboldts Nick Fritch lead wire-to-wire, securing his first win of the 2019 season. Fritch, Devin Irvin and Dalton Garrison completed the top three.
In OReilly Auto Parts Sports Compact action, Overbrooks Barry Luthi led from the drop of the flag in picking up his third victory of the year. Luthi and last weeks winner Brandon Vink won heat races.
Racing returns to Humboldt Speedway on May 10 with Kids Night. Kids can participate in Power Wheels races as well as bicycle races for the older kids. WAR Series Sprint cars will also be in action. Also competing that evening will be Rays Metal Depot NASCAR B-Modifieds, Home Savings Bank NASCAR Factory Stocks, OReilly Auto Part Sport Compacts and Loves Travel Stops NASCAR Midwest Modifieds.
