FORT SCOTT — Alejandro Vargas and T.J. Taylor pulled double duty for Allen County Kids Wrestling Club’s Mat Warriors last Sunday.
Vargas captured first place in the 6-and-under heavyweight division. He also wrestled in the 8-and-under heavyweight bracket, taking fifth.
Taylor placed first in the 8-and-under 46-pound bracket. He also took fourth in the 8-and-under 52-pound class.
The Mat Warriors competed in the Fort Scott Kids Wrestling Club’s tournament.
Also in 6-and-under, Eli Adams won the gold medal in the 46-pound division with teammate Titus Jones finishing second. Landon Boldra was second in the 40-pound division.
Curt Shannon and Konner Larney went second and third, respectively, in the 6-and-under 37-pound bracket. Jarrod Powe and Jaaron Griffin were third and fourth, respectively, in the 49-pound bracket.
Payton Houk claimed first in the 6-and-under 52-pound class. Mattix Cole placed second at 61 pounds.
Clay Shannon earned the gold medal in his 8-and-under 61-pound class. Adam Atwell was second at 58 pounds and C.J. Shields had fourth in the 67-pound division. Trenton Jones was fourth in the 8-and-under heavyweight division.
Jeremy Ridge placed second in the 10-and-under 70-pound class. In 12-and-under, Seth Sanford won the gold medal at 190 pounds.
The Mat Warriors had three first-place finishers in the 14-and-under division.
Trevor Tomlinson won at 115 pounds, Brice Aiello took the gold at 140 pounds and Andrew Garber was the 160-pound champion.
