Allen Community College President Johnson Masterson — whose early career at ACC included coaching the baseball team — is among the newest inductees into the Red Devil Diamond Club’s Hall of Fame.
Masterson was a coach at Allen in the early 1970s. He joins fellow Red Devil alums Jim “Hondo” Hess (1979-80), Mike Befort (1979-80), Scott Vondemkamp (1982-83) and Jeff Dinkel (1981) in the 2014 class.
The quintet will be honored at a banquet March 1 at the Allen Student Center.
Registration cost $15 apiece, while the Alumni Club is asking for a $25 annual membership fee to help pay for the costs of additional tiles depicting honorees.
