The Marmaton Valley volleyball team hit some highs and some lows in their season-opening tournament at Yates Center on Saturday going 2-2 on the day.
The Wildcats took on Altoona-Midway and walked away with a 2-0 (25-11, 25-10) win to start the day off on a high note.
Megan Ensminger led the way in the match, scoring 10 points while Trinitee Guiterrez followed just behind with 7 points.
The Lady Wildcats ran into a road block versus Oswego, falling 0-2 (18-25, 21-25).
Ensminger led the way in points again, scoring 8 in the loss.
After that, Marmaton Valley fell to Jayhawk-Linn 0-2 (17-25, 21-25) with Guiterrez scoring 11 points.
The Lady Wildcats closed out the tournament with a win, taking down Crest 2-1 (23-25, 25-21, 25-19). Guiterrez led the way with 10 points followed by Shayla Brooks who had 9 points and four kills.
Up next, the Lady Wildcats will head to Madison today.
