ARMA — Marmaton Valley Junior High had two Three Rivers League event champions while Crest Middle School captured five event championships at the 2011 TRL league track meet Tuesday.
The meet was hosted by Northeast Junior High in Arma.
Keagan Boyd of Marmaton Valley was the seventh-grade boys’ 800-meter champion. Boyd won the race in 2 minutes, 31.78 seconds.
Marmaton Valley’s eighth-grade boys won their division’s medley relay title. Payton Wilson, Kohl Endicott, Trent Johnson and Shaun Frye combined to win the race in 1:57.67.
Crest’s Rene Rodriguez is a double champion in the TRL eighth-grade boys’ division. He won the discuss with a throw of 127 feet, 5 inches and won the long jump at 17’2”.
“All of our athletes did a great job,” said Jamie Stodgell, MVJH track coach. “Their hard work throughout the season was evident in their events at the league meet.”
Kellen Ramsey of Crest won the seventh-grade boys’ discus title with a throw of 88 feet.
Crest’s Tiffany Jackman won the TRL league champion in eighth-grade girls’ long jump with a leap of 13’6”.
The CMS eighth-grade girls’ 4×200-meter relay team of Brooklyn Lacross, Madison Kellar, Brianna Scovill and Alyssa Boeck won its race in 2:08 for the championship.
