MORAN — A dismal start failed to get any better Tuesday evening for Marmaton Valley High’s boys.
The Wildcats trailed 21-5 after one period and were never able to threaten visiting Oswego High in a 72-35 loss.
The defeat drops Marmaton Valley to 3-9 on the season.
“They just came out from the get-go and shot lights out,” Wildcat head coach Denny Lasley said of the visiting Indians. “They’re very quick. They moved the ball well. They’re a good team.”
Oswego pushed its lead to 35 points by intermission, 49-14.
“They just outplayed us in all aspects,” Lasley said.
Ethan Ericson led the Wildcats with nine points and seven rebounds. Kurtis LaRue followed with eight points, while Dalton Houk scored seven. Tanner Lewis dished out four assists.
Damon Trotnick scored 17 points and Hunter Clyde 12 for Oswego.
