Local athletes flourish in Erie track meet

ERIE — Area athletes gathered in Erie on Tuesday for a Special Olympics track and field meet.

Local results follow:

Gavin Doolittle — first in 25-meter wheelchair; fifth in softball throw. Dakota Fry — first in 10-meter manual wheelchair; fifth in tennis ball throw. Ty Johnson — fifth in 100-meter race; second in softball throw.  Dakota Knowles — first in assisted wheelchair; third in tennis ball throw. Leibreanne Moore — second in standing long jump; fourth in tennis ball throw; Alex Morris — fifth in standing long jump; second in softball throw. Paige Riley — second in standing long jump; sixth in softball throw. Courtland Sager — first in 200-meter race; fourth in softball throw. Corrina Simpson — first in standing long jump; fourth in softball throw; Fayth Simpson — third in 200-meter race; fifth in softball throw. Laura Simpson — fourth in standing long jump; third in softball throw; Jacob Stokes — second in 50-meter race; third in tennis ball throw. Ian Webber — third in standing long jump; fourth in softball throw; Christopher White — third in 100-meter race; third in shot put. Judy Branstetter — first in running long jump; second in shot put. Brandon Griggs — first in 400-meter race; third in shot put. Casey Riebel — second in 100-meter walk; third in shot put.
