WICHITA — The ANW Special Education Cooperative sent several athletes to Wichita Friday through Sunday to compete in the Kansas Special Olympics.
Those competing were:
Madison Barber, Iola, third in tennis ball throw and third in 50-meter race
Judy Branstetter, Iola, third in running long jump and second in 100-meter race
Jonathan Cress, Iola, fifth in softball throw and first in 50-meter race
Manuel Doolittle, Yates Center, first in softball throw and third in 100-meter race
Leiberanne Moore, Iola, second in softball throw and third in 100-meter race
Tyler Streeter, Iola, first in running long jump and first in 200-meter race
Christopher White, Iola, second in tennis ball throw and fifth in 100-meter race
The relay team of Judy Branstetter, Manuel Doolittle, Leiberanne Moore and Tyler Streeter finished third.
An Allen County team also sent competitors to Wichita.
They were:
Casey Riebel, LaHarpe, sixth in softball throw and sixth in 50-meter race
Steven Riebel, LaHarpe, second in softball throw and third in 25-meter assisted walk
Paul Vaughn, Buffalo, seventh in shot put and first in standing long jump.
