Legion team falls in close game

HUMBOLDT — Both teams were strong on the mound Thursday, but Overbrook was just a little bit stronger at the plate in a 1-0 victory over the Iola Indians A team on Thursday. Trevor Church started the game for the Indians and recorded eight outs.

The Indians lost despite out-hitting Overbrook six to four.

One bright spot for the Indians Holden Barker’s single in the first inning.

Chad Robert was the winning pitcher for Overbrook. The hurler threw all nine innings, allowing zero runs on six hits and striking out 11.

Korbin Cloud took the loss for the Indians. Cloud pitched two and a third innings, allowing one run on one hit and striking out five.

Church started out the game for the Indians. The southpaw pitched two and two-thirds innings, allowing zero runs on one hit, striking out four and walking one.

Barker led the Iola Indians with three hits in four at bats.

Kyle Strother went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Overbrook in hits.
