Mamarton Valley High School senior Brayden Lawson will likely end his high school career with postseason awards from baseball, basketball and football, but will take his talents to the gridiron next fall.

Lawson signed his national intent letter to Baker University during a signing ceremony Friday in Moran. Prior to last fall, the Kansas State High School Activities Association named him one of the 25 players to watch for the upcoming Division II eight-man football season.

Lawson did not disappoint. He eventually earned All-State first team honors at defensive line.

Lawson ended the year as the Wildcats’ leading tackler with 88 takedowns, including eight for a loss, and 6.5 sacks. The Wildcats ended the year 8-2 as Three Rivers League champions and district champions.
