COLONY — Crest High’s basketball teams came to a hard-fought split Tuesday against visiting Northeast-Arma.

The Lady Lancers received a dazzling performance from senior Aubree Holloran, who had 20 points and 16 rebounds, but it was not enough in a 50-46 defeat.

Meanwhile, Crest’s boys emerged with a 48-41 victory.

In the girls contest, Northeast led 18-15 and 29-23 at the break. Crest pared the deficit to 37-33 after three quarters.

Kenna Hammond also proved to be a handful for the Lady Lancers with 17 points. Lindsay Godderz and Kayla Hermreck each added three. Hermreck also had eight rebounds.

Crest boys coach Travis Hermreck said the Lancers responded well after a grueling schedule last week.

“Tonight was a much better overall effort than we saw last week,” he said. “Tournament week can be tough on the mind and body.  I was pleased with how the boys bounced back tonight. It was good to see us compete again.”

Crest jumped out to a 13-6 lead and never trailed again.

Ethan Prasko led Crest with 14, while Tyson Hermreck and Kobey Miller both had 11. Stetson Setter added four, Ethan Godderz and Karter Miller both had three and Stratton McGhee had two. Kobey Miller had 12 rebounds, four steals and four assists. Prasko pulled down 10 boards. Tyson Hermreck also had five assists.
